Pinterest strikes again. I saw Stephanie pin a menu board, and the description made me think “meh”, but at one point I finally clicked on it. The shopping list description was not really accurate at all from what I can tell, which was why I was not really interested. I have list making OCD. I don’t need help in that department. At all. I will stalk the stores a few days prior to grocery shopping to ensure I have the right prices, and then I make a spreadsheet.
I do have one problem though. Sticking to a menu plan. I manage to stick to it for a few days, and if I can get a week of actually following my menu plan I’d be shocked. Part of my problem is that I have my menu on my computer in a – prepare to be shocked – spreadsheet. David doesn’t creep around on here to find my menu plan. I’m glad he doesn’t because I don’t need him rolling his eyes at my always open SimCity Social window. 😛
Today brought an impromptu lesson with my eldest that I will explain more about in another post. When my youngest got done with her bath she asked to do lessons as well and I asked her what she wanted to do. Her answer was “lassens!”. Alrighty I see this is going to go real far. So I picked a topic to Google for her. Crayons! She’s been so into coloring lately that I figured it was right up her alley. Low and behold the YouTube videos happened to have the old Sesame Street clip on crayon making (it was played when *I* was a kid). So we watched that, and then one about markers being made.
Here’s where I admit that I tend to hoard things sometimes. Things like broken crayons, because they’re still totally usable just not as nice as unbroken crayons. So I have a ziplock bag I keep on the bookcase of crayons I find that have met their match with one of my kids. Today I decided it was time to use them!
Not exactly like normal crayons .. but much cooler!
I dye fiber. Yarn and silk mostly. Sometimes I will dye cotton, but I only have a few dyes for that. I sell it and have a registered website, and I am even registered with my state. I’m not as serious about it as I’m sure I should be, but I want to keep it fun for me. I just recently finished a co-op and took pictures outside. I think I might dye yarn just in part to try and take artsy-fartsy photos when I’m done. 😉
This is one of my favorite colorways, Toffee Coffee.
The irony in the fact that I dye yarn is that I can barely knit or crochet. This was my first attempt at knitting…
I didn’t get too much further. Although I did dye that yarn, with Kool-Aid , and I still have it.
For as much as I love food, I think a food blog might be the wrong direction, but I can’t exactly put my finger on why….. *rofl*
